Shopping on White Saturday

November 29, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Family Fun, Minnesota Me, New Baby 7 Comments

Yesterday I took the kids to a cute little shop called Peapods.

PeaPods II

I had a gift certificate left over from my baby shower—thank you, Erin!—and I’d been wanting to go for ages.

My hens, I think, were glad we did.

I could have bought the store out, really, but I didn’t.

I can be prudent like that.

Instead, I purchased just two items—a wooden rattle and a little giraffe. The giraffe is Anthony’s Christmas present (Sh! Don’t tell him!) and apparently is all the rage among his crowd.

That’s what the saleslady said anyway. Cha-ching! She totally reeled me in.

The rattle, though, was definitely needed. Anthony is teething something fierce and stands in desperate need of something to gnaw on.

Other than me, that is.

So yes, I got him an (overpriced) rattle. Here’s his reaction when I held it out:

Cha-ching!

PeaPods IV

I think he likes it.

I used to live literally right around the corner from Peapods. Luckily I didn't have nearly as many friends with children then, or I would have been in some serious financial difficulty, since I walked past their display window at least twice per day.

Wow, Margaret!! I had a lot of catching up to do tonight. I was wondering where you were for awhile–not blogging and all. Got the update. Peapod looks fun. Praying for you all! Loved the Home Improvement. And, where is the play? My daughter just read part of the series of Anne and I know she would love to see the play since she also performs in plays etc. Let me know where and when, if you would. We would love to go. Blessings,Cheri

You're welcome! It looks like the kids had fun. Did you get a chance to look at some slings?

Hey, we have that rattle! Our babies really liked it when they were old enough not to hit themselves in the face with it!

If you liked Pea Pods, have you tried Wonderment?

Wow, I can't get over how BIG your baby has become! 🙂 That rattle looks so yummy, so ergonomically correct for handling it just right, and so, um very boyish. hehe Good choice. Have to ask though, being Canadian and all, did you make up "White Saturday" as I've never heard of that term before. "Black Friday" yes, "White Saturday" no. LOL Cute post.
