A True Handful

October 13, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, My Girls, Special Events 4 Comments

Our Angela turned five on Sunday.

Can it really be that my baby girl is now a big girl?

BDay I

We put together a large, impromptu party after Mass, thanks to three of my friends and their multiple children. We’re talking 18 kids for just the four of us!

Insta-party.

I am richly blessed in all these little ones—blessed and busy and blessed and did I mention busy? Thank goodness for the gift of ready-made confections. (In my defense, Angela had requested a cake from Dairy Queen and asked only that it be purple.)

Except…

BDay III

“Hey, where’s my name?” she wanted to know. Woops. I “decorated” the cake with a cut-out napkin from the party store (one of my favorite go-to methods when things are busy) but forgot the personalized greeting.

Good thing that 5-year-olds are so forgiving.

And a good thing, too, that we Minnesotans are of such hardy stock. Outside the weather looked like this…

Snow!

…while inside we dined on ice cream.

Happy 5th birthday to my beautiful blond Viking! My little handful is now a real handful. She’s five…whole…fingers…old. ☺

AMDG,

Perfect birthday for a true handful!

    God's blessings on her!

Are you using "true" instead of "big" now that she's 5? I will say that 5 has been better, lots better!
