Wordless Wednesday

The Quilting Edition

Michele's Sneak Peak

Ed. Note: My neighbor Margaret came over yesterday to give me a crash course in all things Rotary Cutter. “You don’t want to take off the tip of your finger,” she advised. “Always put the guard up in between trimming.” Good solid counsel, don’t you agree? Later, my neighbor Gloria came over to show me how to thread my machine because I never remember how to thread my machine.

You see what I’m getting at here, I hope. I am a total work-in-progress when it comes to quilting (and sewing, and knitting, and cleaning…) but if I can do this, anyone can!

Have a beautiful Wednesday, everyone. In all things, may we be faithful.

PS. So much for “Wordless” Wednesday.

I love the fabric choices! You can do this, Margaret! I just taught myself how to embroider. It’s slow and work in progress, but I’m doing it. Keep working on this – you’ll be so pleased to have done it.

Oh how i chuckled when I read your post. I didn’t get the warning about the rotary cutter when making a quilt at my son’s elementary school. And I did take off the tip of my finger. So it was a trip to the ER at 10 at night. Not that they could do any thing for my finger – it wasn’t too bad, but to get a tetanus shot, just in case.

A rotary cutter is a very dangerous tool. I know that now.

    Love the colors.

    Thank you, ladies! 🙂

I have to give credit where credit is due, though. Those beautiful bold fabrics (the two blues) were chosen by Michele Quigley.

This block will be sent to Michele when I’m done–the first quilt in our Quilting Bee.

Heehee….I was just going to ask if those were Michele’s fabrics? I recognized them from her blog pictures! So far it looks like you’re doing great Margaret! And let me tell you….rotary cutters are GREAT!! (As long as you keep your fingers out of the way)

Ohh, take her advice on rotary cutters. I had to get nine stitches when I was in third grade playing with mom’s rotary cutter. Not fun. The fabrics are beautiful!Good luck!
