Big with Child

February 16, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Just Me, Minnesota Me, Pregnancy 8 Comments

That’s me.

I’m not complaining, mind you. Neither am I moving very…fast these days. Hey, I made it over to the computer. I’m doing well!

Tell me again why we purchased a two-story house.

Tell me again why we have our classroom on the second story.

Heck, tell me again why we’re homeschooling period when I could, instead, be accountable to no man other than Dr. Phil and Regis from the hours of 9:00 to 3:00.

(I’m totally kidding with that last one. Lying there watching old reruns of ER, though? Now that sounds rather appealing.)

Tell me again that the last three months of one’s pregnancy are not the hardest…

(You’d be lying, of course.)

…and then tell me again that I can do this.

Happy Presidents’ Day, everyone! Are you making a cherry cobbler like Lissa? I myself managed to open a jar of Prego and dump it in the pan so again, I’m doing well.

And yes, I know this post lacks much of merit.

Here then. Here’s a link to a fun song about the presidents.

Hat tip: friend & fellow homeschooler Kristi

Yours in size if not in substance,

I thought of you today when I was lugging my laundry baskets down the stairs…because our laundry room is all the way in the basement, three stories down. I thought, “We’re all gonna be wearing some stinky clothes this summer, because I’m not going to be able to haul these down in to the laundry room!” Your adorable, and I would totally be sitting there with you watching those ER reruns. 🙂

Hopefully May comes sooner than you think! Hey, and I think Prego sounds like an awesome dinner. 🙂 Is this baby moving around more or less than the others did? In our birthing class they told us that you really don’t know how active a baby is until you have another so you have something to compare it too. Hey, did you hear, we’re expecting #2 in September. I’m not thinking about how my last few months will be in the summer. (denial)

oh my – getting ready to duck when I say I am almost missing those lumbering last weeks! But then my chiropractor saw me a lot too! Oh my gosh how too quickly those first newborn days fly by.
YES YES YES – you can do it! After all WHO got Godiva chocolate for Valentines day?! Poor me- I didn’t get any chocolate because I wouldn’t have been able to eat it any way, Sniff sniff! Cecilia’s reflux is badly bothered by it!
SO pop the kettle on -make a huge mug of hot (Godiva) Chocolate and have one for me while you watch those old ER runs. All Creatures Great and Small via instant watch on Netflix got me through those first hairy weeks after Cecilia was born and I was too ill to be able to do more than walk to the bathroom and back!

I’m at the last two weeks – and from here it was just one day at a time. I’m at the point now where I’m kind of nervous cause I don’t have all my stuff ready. Too soon, too soon, and not soon enough!!

All that up-and-down activity is very good for bringing on labor I am told–if you don’t tip over and break your neck, that is! Be careful!

The good thing about the last trimester is that you realize that even with all-night nursing and diaper-changing marathons, it is still easier to have the baby on the outside of your body!

And it gives you a foretaste of what old age must feel like. I’m still in the second trimester, but I’m 45 and breathless…

Remember the goal, my dear! Each laborious step up is one step closer to holding that baby in your arms.

Margaret, I’m right there with you babe. Tomorrow is 37 weeks and I’m lucky if the kids get lunch on paper plates instead of telling them to forage for themselves.

Just sitting here waiting for contractions to kick in, looking forward to being able to touch my toes again!
