Many of the people who lived in Bethlehem saw in Jesus a child like any other. The Kings knew how to see Him as the Child, who, from then on, would be adored forever. Their faith gave them a unique privilege; to be the first among the gentiles to adore Him when the world did not know Him. How immensely happy must these men have been, having come from so far, when they were able to contemplate the Messiah soon after He came into the world!
We have to be attentive, because Our Lord also shows himself in the normal events of every day. May we know how to recover this interior light, which for us breaks through the monotony of days which are all the same, and find Jesus in our ordinary life.

Oh, to find Jesus in the ordinary life. That’s the entirety of our vocation, n’est pas?

Margaret, how beautiful that is. I was given a beautiful Epiphany of my own yesterday when my 2.5 year old, who has done everthing in her power to be a terror in our household of late, came up to me while I was cooking dinner, wrapped her arms around my legs and said, “Mommy, I SO love you!” I almost cried as I turned from the stove, got down on my knees, and gave her the biggest hug I’ve given in a while. She loves me….she really loves me!!!! What a blessing.
