A Feast of Photos!

December 13, 2006 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Minnesota Me, Special Events 8 Comments

With a bit of text by way of explanation!

December 12th was to have been the day that my friend Tina completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy.

It was also the day that we finished a novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe for her (unbeknownst to Tina).

And so yesterday morning, for the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, we thought we might surprise her at her home with a “little” token of our love and gratitude: this beautiful concrete statue.

Having arrived a little early, I was able to capture
some great shots!

Tina’s look is priceless as she watches car after car after car
pull into the cul-de-sac.

Marilyn (on the left) orchestrated the entire event, God bless her.

What better way to celebrate life than with a bunch of children?

We ended the visit with a decade of gratitude–the First Joyful Mystery, of course.

And after that, I shared my news!

A very happy postscript to this story is that Tina wound up finishing her treatments last month. Consequently she felt (and looked!) wonderful for her surprise. Please keep her in your prayers!

What a special day and a wonderful story! I, too, will be praying for Tina! My daughter just finished her chemo a few months ago. In the midst of it all, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy!

How inspiring to end your visit with the First Joyful Mystery! How blest Tina is to have friends like you all!

Congratulation to you, Margaret, your husband and children!
