Around here we call it “Red Red Cake” for a reason.

“Red Velvet” is simply too elegant an appellation for us chefs, that’s certain.

Consequently, if you would like our family’s recipe for red red cake, go here.

OK–I LOVE your “Come for Coffee” blog!! I have been looking through cookbook after cookbook for a apple pie recipe with a crunchy topping since last Sunday when we got apples from the apple orchard! (which are still in my fridge!) Thank you, I will bake it hopefully Wednesday… Your daughter is beautiful, even in red!! That must have been a straight to the tub clean-up!:) Our birthdays are over until Jesus’ birthday, this would be a great cake for that!!
