A Little Light Writing for Monday

Okay, so, if you’re anything like me…

Target Field III
~ In the Press Booth at Target Field ~
(You can see that I’ve traded my pen & pad
for something much, much better.)

This past weekend pretty much knocked you out. I swear, sometimes it’s like I need a weekend to recover from the weekend! This is not to say that we worked yesterday—on the contrary, I spent a good portion of the afternoon/early evening just….sitting. (It was an over-sized chair/ Sense & Sensibility thing.)

Friday and Saturday, however, were CRAZY.

For that reason (and because I’m sure that you get my point by now) today’s post is going to be light light light. It’s Angela’s creative writing assignment, whereupon she was asked to describe Mom & Dad.

I got a kick out of her responses.

My Father
Color of his eyes: Brown
Color of his hair: Black
The work he does: Lawyering
What he likes: Pop
His favorite place: In the basement
His favorite food: Cookie Dough
His favorite book: The Fish Book
His favorite music: Rock
His favorite saint: Joseph
My Mother
Color of her eyes: Blue
Color of her hair: Brown
The work she does: Cooks
What she likes: Coffee
Her favorite place: Anywhere with Our family
Her favorite food: Brussels Sprouts
Her favorite book: The Baby Book
Her favorite music: Dolly Parton Radio
Her favorite saint: Josemaria Escriva

My favorite category was the work we do. Lawyering and cooking and that’s pretty much it. My husband, on the other hand, took note of the “Favorite Food” category and quipped, “This is not a marriage designed to last.”

What can I say? Angela calls ’em like she seems ’em.

Also? Her little brother George had an opinion too. When I asked him the color of my eyes, he responded, “Blue and white!”

Happy Monday, everyone. ☺

My little ones used to say may eyes were "blue, and white, and RED!"

I'm afraid I'm still a sleep deprived mom with blood-shot eyes.

Oh, I think you will be having lots of George funny posts with that last remark. He is so cute and so funny! I just love those funny things the little ones or not so little ones say. Adds lots of smiles to my day. See you soon.

    Hi Margaret,

Love the parent descriptions by your sweet girl. It's interesting to note how observant our children are of our likes, habits and behaviors! Hope today is a more energetic day for you!

I think the repition of the word lawyer woke up some spam comments! Better written than my spam comments are however. Mine have a distinctly EuroIndian/aisian flavor in the grammar aspect of their 'compliments'. Still I second 'Patent and Trademarks attorneys comment -' though Ill change it up a bit "GREAT blog, keep it up always! " :o)
