I finished watching the movie Inception! My final opinion, should you be interested, is in the com-box of this post.
Speaking of television and watching it and whatnot, do you plan to watch the play-offs this weekend? Believe it or not, I have become a HUGE fan of the sport, in part because I have NO CHOICE (read: two sons, ages 13 &11) but also because I think it’s just…cozy.
Of course, I’m not the one freezing my buns off on the field.
And now that our team is out, sigh, I have switched over to the Green and Gold side of the fence. Scandalous, isn’t it? What can I say? I like that Aaron Rodgers.
(In a motherly, what-a-nice-young-man kind of way.)
As the resident 19 mos-old, George doesn’t give a fig about football.
Though he’ll watch this video five times in a row.
Attention all homeschooling moms: do you have an educator’s card at Barnes & Noble? Starting tomorrow you’ll get 25% off your entire purchase, including the non-educational stuff.
Also, while I was over at their website checking out the deals, I found another fun link: Tomie dePaola reading his book, Strega Nona.
(Save the link for this afternoon and you may even get dessert made!)
One of the (spontaneous and crazy) things I did last Saturday, besides getting up at 4:00 a.m. to watch Inception, was decide to go back to Weight Watchers.
It was the best decision I’ve made all year.
By the end of the day I was feeling slimmer—not that I actually was, mind you, but the accountability has been awesome.
And now, six days later, I’ve lost two pounds. I guess all those buttered bits of bread add up!
What was your favorite Christmas present this year? Here’s mine:
Repeat after me: Margaret loves her husband. Margaret loves her husband. Margaret loves her husband.
(And not in a motherly, what-a-nice-young-man kind of way.)
~ 7 ~
Guess what? There’s no 7th Quick Take! You’re dismissed!
Now go make some coffee and/or dessert for tonight.
And happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Awwwwww… I have that same Someone in Texas Loves You mug from my mom (who lives in Texas, where I was raised). It's one of my favorites as I think of her each time I use it 🙂

Two things:
1) Go PATRIOTS!! I think you should be rooting for them since you have at least one loyal New England reader 🙂
2) We love our coffee maker too.
Happy New Year to a skinnier, more-caffeinated you!

Sorry, sweetie, this Texas family is rooting for the Seahawks (but we still love you!) Hubby is a big fan (except when Dallas is in the running). So, what kind of coffee maker is that? Does it use those K Cups thingys? I think we need a more in depth review!!!

Ben liked the dog video too. And everyone loved the Strega Nona video. What a treat! We've got the Strega Nona Christmas book; but they'd never read the original Strega Nona. Bella declared it "a very silly story."

My husband will be at the Patriots/Jets game Sunday. Some of my girls will be at the Providence Bruins game Sunday. Leaves me and my knitting partner daughter all alone Sunday … and we are so glad! We'll watch the game while we decide what projects to begin. And of course we'll have all the tailgating snacks to ourselves! Can't wait!

What sport? You didn't say, though I'm assuming football.
Can't wait to have the kids listen to Tomi. Love him.

Hi Margaret.
I am returning to WW tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous (can I do this again?) … It's nice to know I am in good company =)
My son got a Vikings jersey the other day, a total hand-me-down, Culpepper one ~ LOL, but at 3yo, he just knows it's a football shirt. He keeps asking me to watch the Crackers (translation: Packers). Love that kid!

Margaret, thank you for always making me smile. You are such an inspiration to me! I will be watching football, but just for good games-my Colts are out. Have a great day 🙂

Ooooh! Thank you for that Tomie de P link. We love his books, and I have been trying to collect as many as possible. My kids will love hearing him read the story!
I always smile when I see all of the football comments on blogs at this time of year. It has pretty much been off my radar since moving to Japan (don't get to see much of it here), but I have great memories of watching with my big brother. I used to love getting him all riled by cheering the Atlanta Falcons while he was a die-hard Bengals fan (all of us kids were born in Cincinnati, but moved south when He was 16 and I was just a year old). Good memories!

Thanks for the link to Strega Nona! This coming week I planned a lesson on Strega Nona for my Kindergarten class. Now we can hear Tomie DePaulo read it to us, and we can watch the video on our SmartBoard. Thank You my dear Margaret!
