So much to say, so little time to say it…
Anthony–I mean, George–is a great big needy thing these days. We were at piano today for two & a half hours and, well, it was all I could do to keep him from shrieking. Poor Angela. She was so bored that she was reading a book upside down and I could tell–I could TELL–that all she needed was some attention from the Momma.
The good news is we went to a play today! The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins and it was wonderful. Funny how you think you’ve read all the books by Dr. Seuss and then you realize, no, there’s still some out there.
Which is why, when I saw the sign-up sheet for this play at the first homeschool co-op meeting, I thought, “Nah…we don’t need to see that one.”
But then, being anal, I checked out the book from the library and thought, “We have GOT to see this.”
I tried to get tickets at the last minute possible…thinking, okay, the odds are slim…and it all fell into place at the very last minute.
As in, the day of the play.
The morning of the play.
God is good.
Otherwise, there are a hundred things I want to write about. My battle with eating, which still rages on. My struggles with parenting a 13-year-old–the first teen in our family and as such, the guinea pig.
The guinea pig? Greta’s fine. She eats, she poops, she’s basically happy.
Otherwise and in addition to ALL that, all is well and God is good.
Or did I already mention that?
Husband edit: PS, she has wine.

It could be a struggle of a day for me and all I need is too visit you (via the blog) and chuckle of life's simple gifts.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, & thanks again.
BTW, the glass of wine is helpful.
And God is most certainly good!!!

Oh, how familiar (and beautiful) it sounds!
And we are on our 6th teenager now, so just your mention of the age 13 sends a chill…
Nice to meet you, Minnesota.
From MB (in Iowa, and off to pour that glass of wine).

13. that was painful for me! I keep thinking my 3 year old is 3 going on 13 these days. And the only thing to get me through?! yep, that's right, reading and listening to Dr Ray. God Bless that man. So glad to see he has that book on teens. I'm going need it when my time comes for teenagers… I have 5 years to go till that happens. and I'll definitely need a few glasses of that wine š

RE the parenting of a 13 year old – waves hand – me, too!! I really appreciated the prayer that Barbara (Praying for Grace) posted yesterday. I just never dreamed this part would be so hard. And I, as I know you do, too, have a great kid! She isn't a problem! It's just all these new things to face and deal with and now that she should be at a point where I've prepared her I want to say – stop, I didn't do it well enough – we need to go back and have a do-over! No do-over's allowed, though. š God bless you!
