No longer dreaming…

Snowmas I

…of a white Christmas.

Snowmas V

Though some of us are clearly still dreaming of other things.

Minnesota is in the midst of a winter snowstorm that is predicted to set records. Locals are calling it, (among other less printable terms), Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse, Snonami, and SnOMG.

I like the cute, family-friendly Snomas, myself.

Snowmas VI

My husband is thankful for all the manpower we’ve been blessed with.

Around here, we’ve got a saying: “Girls rule. Boys…shovel.”

Snowmas XI

Just kidding.

Ellie the dog is a girl.

Snowmas IV

And she absolutely loves the snow.

So do I, frankly.

Snowmas X

But then again, I’m taking photos with my zoom lens from my front step.

With love and buried blessings from the great state of Minnesnowta,

Don't let my dds see this. DH thought they are old enough (15 & 13) to use the snowblower by themselves (so he taught them last night – I am still blissfully unaware of how to – although I bet I could figure it out)

The dss (plural of ds, right?) are still too young (4 & 2).

Gotta love the Minnesota weather, waiting for it to start again and finish with the 12 inches predicted.

I love the pictures. Did they go out willingly to shovel, or did they need a shove from Dad?

I'm waiting to break it to Matthew that he may have to go shovel his grandparents' driveway so they can get to Mass.

Good luck hitching up the sled dogs to get to Mass this afternoon…see you there!

    Margaret,
Your banner looks quite incongruous these days.

How much snow did you get? That looks pretty deep.

We're having a white Christmas too since our Sunday blizzard's snow is still piled up more than a foot deep.

    Merry Christmas.

I second Melanie's call for a new banner! Let's see that delicious snow!!! We are getting alight dusting right now with the possibility of an inch or two by tonight. Who woulda thunk it?

Your yard looks a lot like my yard =) I'm glad it has tapered off a bit, so that my mom can get here safely this afternoon. (She's flying in from Florida, and I was soooo worried these last few days. But I just checked, and it looks like her plane has departed. Hooray!) Now, it can snow, snow, snow all it wants!

Have a blessed Christmas, Margaret, from my Minnesnowta house to yours!

We have…wind. It is super windy and about 65. As George Strait sings, "There may not be snow in San Antonio, but it's a Texas Christmas to me! Here's wishing you all a Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas from Texas and me!!"

I'm enjoying the cyber snow! It's going to be another scorcher today (for me, anything over 75 is hot), here on O'ahu.

    Mele Kalikimaka!

We're hunkered down here in central MN today too. I let hubby and kids have the fun in the snow this AM. Although the white does look quite beautiful out my window right now, I'm still bracing for the worst of it and the oh-so-beloved blowing and drifting tomorrow. Happy Snowmas to you too!

While you are freezing with all that snow, we are enjoying lovely summer temperatures.

Santa visited us on Christmas Day and took a ride on the 'slip and slide' – what a hoot!

Can I ask, how does your garden recover in the spring after all that snow?

    Cheers – Joolz
