Up and Coming

June 9, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Blogging, Minnesota Me, Reviews 12 Comments

Would you like to know a secret? I’m home alone right now.

(Well, okay, I’ve still got a baby and a dog to keep me company…but they’re basically quiet and therefore don’t count.)

God bless those friends who come and take one’s kids, and who bring you a meal at the same time! This is a perk of being postpartum—such acts of kindness balance out all the sleepless nights (as in, being up from 2:00 to 5:00 this morning) and make the aches & pains seem (almost) insignificant.

[You must trust me there. I’m very achy.]

[Trust me where? You don’t want to know.]

Plus a quiet house is a productive house. I’m in full planning mode for the Summer & Fall Quarters…and frankly I am loving it.

I’m huge into planning my school year; are you?

[This is not to say that I always stick to those plans, but heck if they don’t look good on paper.]

I am also using this time to plan out the next couple weeks of blogging. The last installment of my birth story is on deck for tomorrow, and then after that I’d like to do some reviews.

Do you like reviews? ‘Cause I’ve got some books & curricula I’m aching to share.

[Aching in a good way, you know.]

[Aching in ways that have nothing to do with my sore bosom.]

[I love to nurse, don’t get me wrong.]

[It’s just that this kid loves to nurse even more, if that’s possible. He does so…with a vengeance.]

So please stay tuned, dear internet friend.

I’ve got lots of great reviews in store to help you with all your planning.

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

Can't wait to see what you have planned! I have the majority of my planning done too (and we're not even done w/this year!-funny how that stuff works out that way!)
ANYWAY…sorry to hear you are sore-been there many times. Thank God for the gift of nursing, though, right?! 🙂

Gotta LOVE those friends who take the kids for a chunk of time and dinners! My friends teased me that that is the reason I have been pregnant so many times-free meals! ha ah! but, that's what we moms deserve w/the pregnancy and labor, right?
yeah, i can talk myself crazy!
    Gotta go, baby is crying.
    God bless you!-Mary

How fabulous to be alone and what a fabulous friend to do that for you! And, I'll have to skip the reviews. Too tempting for the pocketbook plus my confidence is too easily shaken: I already know what we're going to do in the fall!
Eh, who am I kidding… I'll be reading the reviews!

Hello there! I need book reviews! I can't seem to focus on this next year's plans. I'm hopelessly muddled. Please help.
And we had ballet camp this morning – sorry I missed your call. 🙁

    From your sore friend in-deed….
I can't wait to hear "the rest of the story" and read the reviews…

I've got a little girl who would love to meet a little boy. The rest of us would love to meet him too!

You have got to stop with those smaller letters. My tired old eyes are reading words such as bosom as something else and making me think TMI (too much information). Luckily, I realized my mistake. 🙂

I'm interested to hear what you have to review! 🙂

I haven't started my planning for the school year yet, but I did buy a set curriculum for a couple of subjects for next year, so that will help. I want to start planning by sometime in July though, for sure. I have been busy taking the opportunity of school being done to try to work through areas of my house that needed help.

Can't wait to hear what you have to say!

I am so not a planner, which is why it is awesome to have CHC plan for me. 😉

I'm enjoying the kindness in form of MEALS this week. Oh what a wonderful thing to have fellow Mommy friends nearby! 🙂

    Hope you're feeling well!

So sorry for your aches and pains! I hope you've got a "bean bag warmer" — those things have always been MIRACLES for me! I know I'm entering TMI territory here, but it's basically all I can stand to wear up top for the first few weeks…*grin*

Will I read your reviews? Goodness, YES! I love planning, love looking through curricula and love seeing what other moms are doing!!

And GOD BLESS friends who bring food and play with the other kids!!!!!

I went through my planning phase already and am pretty prepared for next year (I use Homeschool Tracker for lesson planning & scheduling). However, I can NEVER pass up reading others' opinions about books and such.

My newborns tend to be voracious, tenacious, etc. when nursing, too. The meals are a great benefit! I'm not sure what it will be like now that we're so far away from close friends. I've already invited my mom to come and stay … she's a real blessing.
