To dream a dream…

April 16, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Current Affairs, Minnesota Me 16 Comments

I’m fairly certain you’ve seen the coverage of Scotswoman Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent by now, but I for one can’t get enough of her plucky performance.

It’s crackin’, as the Scots would say.

Here is the link to Susan’s performance. Watch how Simon Cowell’s eyebrows go up in surprise.

That was an incredible way to start my morning! Has she got a voice, or what? Hope she does well in the rest of the competition; she is deserving.

We loved this too and have watched it several times in the past two days. So inspiring, challenging, and heart-warming. I get a little choked up every time.

Margaret, thank you for sharing this. We don’t watch any network TV so I hadn’t heard about Susan Boyle at all. I love “Les Miz” and to hear her sing one of the most difficult songs from the musical was truly amazing. I was crying at the end. Tears literally rolling down my face. In a good way. 🙂

Beautiful! I, too, shedded a few happy tears at the end of the clip. Absolutely awesome.

Holy eyebrows…for both Simon and Susan! I have been watching this since yesterday and the story is amazing. Now I see why people watch shows like these. Very entertaining.

The song also moved me to tears.

Thanks so much, Margaret, for posting the link. I heard snippets of it on the news and wondered how I could find the whole performance. Isn’t she phenomenal!?! I hope and pray she gets her dream. God bless her and you and baby and family and Ellie, too. lois

If you can you should read the piece by Colette Douglas Home about Susan Boyle – “The beauty that matters is always on the inside” It was linked to by The Anchoress. It was from http://www.theherald.co.uk – the features/opinon section.

Gives a little history of Susan but is mostly a comment on why people are so surprised she had a wonderful voice.

That link has a few more videos on it. She is truly amazing! It also teaches us a great lesson. Never judge a book by its cover.

I just saw this on another blog. Wasn’t that a wonderful performance? The judges were all looking so smug and then those surprised looks. Wow.

I loved that video when I saw it yesterday. She stole everyone’s hearts with just a few notes of her song.

Good for her. She showed them!
