Freshly Back

May 18, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Family Fun, Minnesota Me 11 Comments

…from a weekend of camping. Our first trip of the season!

Here’s a photo of me & the gang upon our return.

Such fun! It was cold, though—really cold—and one of the members of my family claims that s/he needs a warmer sleeping bag. (Hmm…I wonder who s/he could be? Hint: s/he does all the cooking on these trips, so it’s really important to keep him/her happy.) Anyway, it is obvious that an afternoon trip to the sporting goods store is in order…

…straightaway after baths.

And unpacking.

And dish-washing.

And naps.

And so it begins. Here’s to a season of happy camping!

LOL! I am so dense! I have to admit it took me awhile to figure out what you were talking about with the photo.
But yea, camping is a dirty job. And I insist on a down sleeping bag.

We are camper too! Good for you taking all those kids. Lots of memories and lots of fun.

Yah it is a lot of work…but so is everything in life. Keep it simple. Camping is camping not taking the kitchen sink!

I kept looking at the photo thinking, I don’t see them anywhere? It wasn’t until the end of the post that “I got it”.LOL

You’re so brave. I’ve been cold all weekend and I’ve mostly been in my house. Brrr! Feels like November.

    That was hilarious.

I don’t camp, even in our gorgeous 60 degree nights, I don’t camp.

    You are amazing.

    🙂

I would love to camp, even with the kids, but hubby is not a camper!! He’s a cabin with air conditioning kind of guy!

Sam’s Club has nice, warm sleeping bags!

I also took a little while to figure out you did not camp anywhere in that picture, I thought, “hey, there’s no palm trees in MN, and where did all those leaves come from?”!!

I can relate to the dirt. My son worked at Boy Scout Camp at the Camporee all weekend (he’s an assistant ranger)and it rained. Imagine the MUDDY mess. Oh boy. Muddy boots are so wonderful to clean!! Well, first they have to dry out of course, along with the boy himself. That was a funny post Margaret. And btw you would never catch me camping, ever.

I can’t wait to start camping!

The kids and hubby did a cub scout camp out this weekend behind our church. Really, not “official” camping but they all had a ball. I’m ready to go with my crew now!

You’ll have to share some of your “recipes”!

    Peace
