Happy Feast of the Assumption!

August 15, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Living Liturgically, Minnesota Me, Special Events, Spiritual Growth 4 Comments

“The ark which God has sanctified,
Which He has filled with grace,
Within the temple of the Lord
Has found a resting-place.”

The Assumption of Mary is one of those feasts that the world would gladly diminish. We know better though, don’t we?

Still, I also know that I myself see so dimly the eternal truths of this proclamation.

Oh, to be holy, as Mary was holy.

Oh, to be in heaven with her one day.

My prayer this day is just that: to be holy, in my own little way and with no hesitation, no holds barred. My prayer is also for my family, that Our Lady’s prayers might see us all through, from this weight of this world to the glories of the next.

May God bless you & yours today & always, and may we meet eternally.
