Dr. Gary Chapman calls them “Words of Affirmation.”
I just call it cute.
Here’s the little love note that I found on the computer when I got up:
U r a gud cook
(me like late night pork chop)
And then, after he ate that late night pork chop, he cleaned up the mess that I’d made preparing them. (I cook big.) All of it! The pork chops (minus one) were lovingly and hermetically sealed in Tupperware. The baked beans, likewise. The parslied corn? I think that got eaten up by all the children. The big old flour mess from the biscuits? All. Cleaned. Up.
Anyway. You will have to remind me the next time that I’m whining about everything I have to do…
…of why it is I do it.

What a sweet little note. The meal sounds yummy too. It has been quite a while since I have slaved over a pot in the kitchen. Summer usually entails quick meals, BBQ, and a little too much take-out(this one has to stop).

KWYM!
What makes me feel the most loved, better than any rich or expensive gift husband could give me, is when I wake up in the morning after I’ve felt too tired to clean up the dinner things (or come home from a meeting that I had to rush to from dinner) and find that he’s cleaned up the kitchen for me.
