The Most Beautiful Rainbow

June 30, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Minnesota Me, Spiritual Growth 9 Comments

A weekend prayer for this last day of June, from my friend Tina…to me…to you.

The most beautiful rainbow

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person
that wasn’t supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and
it’s harder every time. You’ll break hearts too, so
remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You’ll fight with your best friend.
You’ll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You’ll cry because time is passing too fast, and
you’ll eventually lose someone you love.

So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love
like you’ve never been hurt because every sixty seconds
you spend upset is a minute of happiness you’ll never get back.
Don’t be afraid that your life will end, be afraid
that it will never begin.

Live simply. Love generously.
Care deeply. Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God.

*I know I said “I’ll see you Monday”, but I hope you’ll forgive me my fickleness in posting this. Hey, I’m sanguine in temperament! And my heart was deeply touched by this.

*Oh, and in the name of being thorough, I neither penned the lovely sentiments above nor took the photo. I looked for an author and/or artist but couldn’t find one. If you are he or she, come forward!

I love that last part–“Live simply…”. I’m going to have to write that down.
