Question: Do you know when and where you were baptised?
Or the name of the priest that administered the sacrament?
My goal for today is To Find Out.
I know some of the details of my birth…that it was late at night when my parents left for the hospital and that the neighbors, who were returning home from a party at that time, hollered out many jovial felicitations.
But that’s about it.
My mother was not a blogger.
So! First on the list is to look for my baptismal certificate.
And I don’t know that I have one.
At which point I’ll phone my mom & dad!
We celebrate “spiritual birthdays” around here and I would love to offer up prayers of thanksgiving on my own:
–for my parents, such a blessing;
–for the priest who baptized me;
–and for the tremendous tremendous gift of sanctifying grace.
Have a blessed day, my friend!

I love your question! I will have to pull out my Baptismal Cert. this week. I do know it was Christmas Eve 1967 š

We also celebrate baptismal anniversaries around here, but I never thought to look up my own birth history. What a wonderful idea!

Wouldn’t it be sad if I couldn’t remember? I was 29 years old. š

Lovely post. We do celebrate baptism anniversaries here. The kids have a cake with the right number of candles, and we also light their baptismal candles. Where possible, we invite the godparents to the tea party.
And since you ask, I was baptised on August 6th, 1972. We celebrate that too š
