Food for Thought

February 7, 2012 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Spiritual Growth 9 Comments

All the time it is you, you, you. And you will never be effective until is is Him, Him, Him, so that you act in nomine Domini—in the name and with the strength of God.

–St. Josemaría Escrivá

(I don’t have a flesh-and-blood spiritual director, so I lean heavily—and I do mean heavily—on Father Escrivá and this book.)

(He has a knack for speaking straight to the heart.)

This post is so me. Without a Spiritual director (maybe someday!) and leaning on St. Josemaria Escriva. I couldn't find the 3 in 1 book so I'm reading them out of order right now. Started The Furrow yesterday and loving it… so much to think about and apply!

I had forgotten about that, Jamie! The funny thing is, I don't have a copy for myself…but there's one in our adoration chapel, so every Sunday (right before going home)I'll say, "Whatta ya got for me this week, Father?"

And he always seems to know just where I'm at. HUGE consolation!

Margaret! I had an Opus Dei spiritual director a few years ago…then I moved. He was the best. Since then, I read the wonderful St. Josemaria a lot.

…I even toss around the possibility of naming a child after him…

When my husband was layed off almost two years ago now, a friend gave me a novena to St. Josemaria. My husband was offered the wonderful job he has today when I finished the novena. I will always have a special place in my heart to this saint. Ann

I didn't give you my copy, Jamie! I've never had one and don't need one, really, because I can read the one in the adoration chapel.

Now stop being silly and go see what the good padre has to say to you today. 🙂

Great quote! I ALSO posted a quote from him today. I was looking for a book of his, is this the best one to start off from? We have 2 opus dei priests right in our town-1 at each of our parishes. They are so awesome!!!
    God bless,

    Margaret (and others),

    Have you seen this?

It's next to my tab for Facebook so that I remind myself to get a quote from St. Josemaria as often as I check FB 🙂 It's wonderful!
