Pretty Happy Funny Real

The Sacramental Edition

{Pretty}

Pretty is a little girl, preparing to make her first confession.

An about-to-be-freshly-laundered soul is very pretty, don’t you think?

{Happy}

Look at all those about-to-be-freshly-laundered souls!

She was happy…and joyful…and excited…and nervous.

(Correction: According to Angela, she wasn’t nervous. My husband agreed, saying, “I don’t think she knows what that word means.”

{Funny}

Funny is our parish priest who, having read the Gospel and gone over the night’s agenda, joked, “I’m going into the confessional now. First I’ll turn off my microphone.”

And funny was all the happy chatter, so refreshingly different from the normal queue.

{Real}

Real are the graces, deep and lasting.

Real is my gratitude for the Church.

Visit Like Mother, Like Daughter to see all of today’s {PFHR} contributions!

And have a happy, sacramental day.

    Look at all those kids – what a great parish!

    And she's like, "100 Hail Mary's…no problem, my mom makes me say 200 every day just for fun!"

    Congrats to her 🙂

    My priest growing up once did actually forget to turn off his microphone in the confessional…luckily we could only hear his side. A young man informed him it was turned on and he said, "Thank you." and click it was off…humility, it has it's place :). Blessings for Angela!

    Good job, Angela! Wow, Margaret, she is looking more and more like her oldest sister! Peas in a pod, those two could be. (Did that just sound like Yoda?) 🙂

    I must admit to swallowing jealousy whenever you write about your vibrant parish … big sighs. Add that to my "next confession list".

    Very happy for her, and you too!

    Congratulations, Angela! My Olivia just received her First Reconciliation, too. The joy, the glow … it is so precious and beautiful!

    May God bless you, Angela, as you now prepare to receive Jesus in your First Holy Communion!
