So blogging’s going to be light over the next few days (Do I even need to make such a pronouncement?) because I’m on deadline for a Faith & Family article.
Did you see the shout-out over there? Here’s the link. Please email me if you have words of wisdom to share or a package of coffee & chocolate you want to send.
Once I’ve finished, though, I have a couple of photo & text-heavy posts to share—one on the Minnesota Catholic Home Education Conference (so much good stuff that I could say, and nothing more—I promise—about that black dress) as well as my follow-up post to our week at CVBS.
I blog about CVBS every summer. I can’t help it; our program is so, so very Christocentric and the closing Adoration makes me cry every time.
Still, I must not leave my faithful readers high and dry—and at last count, there were what? Three of you?—and so, here you go, an Angela story to tide you over. There are CVBS crafts all over the house these days, given that there was a craft (or two) each and every day and four children total who participated.
Last night we had gathered in the girls’ room to say our evening prayers as a family. Angela got sidetracked while making the Sign of the Cross and instead, grabbed her sister’s craft from a nearby dresser.
“Pieface!” she shouted, quoting Ramona, and gave her 13-year-old brother a playful smack.
(In the face, of course.)
(His paper-pie-face.)
Have a great rest-of-the week, everyone! Stay dry, get wet, stay warm, stay cool…whatever your state in life dictates this day.

Most of us would probably have presumed it was that whole 'swollen-face thing' keeping you quiet… :-p!
Can't wait to read your article.
Oldest Boy(27) is an Eagle Scout, Middle Boy(22) made it to Life…. and Crash is a bit too young yet.
If you need anything to fill your article that you think I could help with, email me for my phone number. I'll be more than happy to try to help.
Love and blessing, Maggie!

Good luck on the article, I know the pain of deadlines.
In case you didn't see it, I just read this article on the Our Sunday Visitor site.
http://www.osv.com/tabid/7621/itemid/8083/Girl-Scouts-At-odds-with-Catholic-teachings.aspx
It gives some different sides of the Girl Scout issue.
As I said in my email to you, we love Boy scouts. My daughter's local GS council does NOT cross the line or have any affiliation with Planned Parenthood. So, for her, her GS experience is her 12 schoolmates and the fun things they do. If more political and inappropriate things creep in as she gets older, she'll be out quickly. But her leaders are great and we haven't had any problems or hints of them as yet.
I'm still hoping to convince her to join a Venturing crew at 13 — that's a way a girl can join the Boy Scouts of America (co-ed program with great supervision).

I am so terrible about leaving comments, but count me in as one of your three (although clearly it is much more than that!) readers. You inspire me so much, and I appreciate what you do through your blog.
And hey, I'm in Minnesota right now taking my grandmother to a birthday party with her brother. Yesterday I was out shopping and I thought, for a split second, that I saw you. In that split second, I thought "So do I go up and look like some psycho stalker and say 'Hi, I read and love your blog!' or how do you handle that?!" But thankfully it wasn't you so the pressure was off. I get all flustered around famous people haha!
