Kit Kittredge

…it is!

Thank you, everyone, for all the excellent recommendations—movie-viewing, ear-cleaning, and otherwise. Keep ‘em coming! It’s like a Netflix queue in my combox.

To my disappointment, I didn’t see any Kit Kittredge DVDs left on the shelf at Blockbuster. I went to ask the gal up front, and to my joy she had an extra copy right there. God is good; we got our movie for tonight.

I brought Cate along to keep me company as we ran our errands in the bitter cold. Ha—it was in the 30’s today and already I’m complaining? This doesn’t bode well for me in January.

Also, I discovered that pregnant mommies should not go grocery shopping when they are starving. Everything looked so good! Finally I settled on a bag of these as my treat.

Cate, who was holding my clipboard, said, “Um, Mom? Those aren’t on your list.”

Thus began my discourse on impulse buying.

We had almost finished our shopping when Cate said, “Okay, all that’s left is garlic bread and ice cream.”

“Ice cream? Now I know that isn’t on the list!”

“Yes it is,” she replied with a smile, and so it was. She had penciled it in neatly at the bottom.

She wanted chocolate. I wanted vanilla.

We purchased one half gallon of each.

Signing off now to go watch our family movie, I am

Except I’ll bet it wasn’t really a half gallon! A few years ago, most manufacturers made their boxes 1.75 quarts, and I recently noticed that many are now down to 1.5 quarts! I’ve still got “call Turkey Hill” on my to do list. Yeah, right… It still tastes great, though.

Well, what a stinker of a link, Joan! It worked when I first did it!

Let’s see if the second time’s the charm.
