I was hastily placing a last-minute order on-line—mittens from Hannah Anderrson for the cold Fall days ahead—as I bounced from foot to foot through the contractions.
My husband then sped us up the road to United Hospital, while I blinked through the discomfort and tried to appreciate the beautiful, pink sunrise.
Two hours later, my baby girl was born.
My blue-eyed, blonde-haired baby girl.
My baby is three today.

Of course she took a swig of wine! My daughter is a HUGE opportunist…and a patient one at that. She’ll watch to see where Mommy & Daddy leave their coffee, their Mountain Dew, their wine…she’ll wait…and then she’ll pounce.
