Just when you thought that you’d throttle your toddler….

June 8, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Anecdotal, Gratitude, Minnesota Me, Motherhood 12 Comments

  • For her taking the liquid soap out of the bathroom and instead, “washing” her hands on top of the ottoman;
  • For her furtive removal of the turtle from his tank (and for hiding him in Mommy’s teapot);
  • And for her using the top of her dresser as a potty (Who does that?!!)

You come around the corner and see this scene.

“I reading!” she announced with a grin. “To…them!”

I started counting on my fingers at that point. Four precious months left of this sweet, sweet age.
Thank you, God, for toddlers.

    Yes. My Rosie is three now. I like two. I like three, but I miss two.

    Little Love has only 3 more months. Goes by way too fast.

    But, oh my! Look at that face and that hair!

    The essence of cuteness.

    Can’t wait to gobble her up.

    What a cute little face. My littlest just turned “2” one week ago. I hope that I can enjoy every moment. Two is challenging, but oh so much fun.

    Right now I am sad to see my “4” year old turn “5” in one month. I have so enjoyed her 3 and 4 age.

    You’re kidding. The teapot? Really? (That’s one well-traveled turtle) And to think it was just yesterday her wee little self fit into one hand.

    Oh, she is a doll!She looks so much like my dd at that age, and in 5 months my little angel will be 18! Ouch! Time sure does roll on by.

    LOL I just want to kiss her! I can hear her saying that – I can see her sitting there and “reading”.

    Son Timothy caught my 2 yr. old dancing on his bed in only a diaper this afternoon during his supposed “nap”. We both laughed and said “who does that remind you of?” 😉

    Don’t worry, don’t you remember those lovely toddler behaviors continue? My three (four in August) year old is still taking the soap. She “hid” her lunch the other day and told me she was done. My head is about to explode.

    So sweet!
    By the way, I recognize a familiar face in the audience there (we have the same stuffed calico cat!)

    Next month mine turns 3 and I had to laugh out loud when I read about the potty. Just this morning before church when I asked my just turned 4 year old to grab my red sandals, she grabbed a different pair of shoes and my almost 3 year old said, “No, no. She wants the ones I went potty in yesterday.”
    I guess it would have helped if I had been more specific, huh? 😉
