Normally I like spending time in the kitchen…

April 21, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Hearth & Home, Humor, Minnesota Me 5 Comments

But on a totally beautiful Saturday afternoon? The kind where the breeze is gently blowing, the sun is brightly shining and the kids are all out playing?

No way.

The dishes…

The floor….

The sorting…

The straightening…

The getting-done of absolutely anything indoors……..can wait.

    AMEN, sister.

I spent the afternoon at my boys’ baseball game, and got nicely sunburnt.

    Loving this time of year!

I have 2 days worth of dishes and laundry because of the same reason, I guess I am going to have to get to that…!

This is the best time of year (being in the SOUTH). Today (in AR) was like your typical NE summer day (the kind that I miss), but we get to experience that sort of day in the SPRING. Summers here are even hotter (or spicy like I say).

Aaaaachhhhhhooooooooo … that would be the big sneeze (and many more have followed) after spending a complete day outside and forgetting the Claritin. Despite the allergies, I was glad to be outside!

    So glad “read” your smile!

Exactly. We like to eat outdoors when we can. And I still resent the time it takes to get everything together indoors when I want to be out.

I always loved the thought that children won’t remember the clean kitchen, the dustless tables or the ironed laundry. But they will remember the moments together laughing, talking, being family.
